On a personal basis I am especially delighted to have the opportunity to share my feelings and impression I have with the government and people of France on the auspicious occasion of Bastille Day.
Our two countries have managed to make a tangible progress in improving and developing the bilateral relations in various spheres be it the political affairs, characterised by our joint efforts in the continuous struggle against terrorism and extremism, nuclear and narcotics non-proliferation or economic matters, relating to increasing and diversifying the trade and carrying out of industrial and agricultural projects.
Both sides had been repeatedly stressing their desire to strengthen the bilateral ties and enhance their co-operation in various fields, especially in trade, economy. The French government amongst other involvement, is actively engaged in assisting Pakistan in the vital field of security, up gradation of energy facilities and providing the much needed water treatment facilities in the Punjab.
In this context, I am also thankful to H.E. Daniel Jouanneau, the Ambassador, H.E.M. Pierre Seillan, the Consul General and Commercial Consular of the France to visit our factory during the last month and encourage us. In conclusion, let me wish that both the countries may enjoy a unique friendship and expand their co-operation with the passage of time.
