MQM versus PML-Q

Published Updated

Despite similarities in the politics of MQM and PML-Q during Musharraf's regime, it is becoming clear that the policies of the two parties are taking dissimilar paths. This is visible by MQM's stand on rejecting ministerial slots after rejoining the PPP; steps taken in right direction regarding public friendly policies; gradual expansion in other parts of the country. As opposed to this, the PML-Q is sticking to its old politics: power grabbing by demanding ministerial slots from its worst political enemy PPP; and saving the skins of kith and kins of its leaders allegedly involved in corrupt practices. Watching these two parties through the lens of independent electronic media, the aware public can see that MQM is strengthening its roots through clean politics in future while PML-Q is weakening its roots by staying in the old unclean politics of past.
