Experts from the United States and Europe have joined the probe into the deadly bombing at a Marrakesh tourist cafe that left 16 dead, Morocco's interior ministry said Saturday. Some 14 people injured in the blast remained in hospital, four in serious condition, a hospital source said, while seven others have now be released.
Several hundred police and security agents were seen deployed Saturday around the Ibn-Tofail hospital in Marrakesh as Morocco's King Mohammed VI was expected to visit the wounded and also the site of the bombing in Djemaa el-Fna square, a security source told AFP.
The king's visit could not be officially confirmed by midday Saturday. An interior ministry official said no arrests have yet been made, while adding Moroccan investigators were getting international help. "American, French and Spanish experts are taking part in the inquiry. It is an international incident as many foreigners have died," the ministry official said.
