Sindh Rangers on Saturday claimed to have killed an alleged bandit and arrested seven others after brief encounter at Khoi Goth in the limits of Shah Latif police station. According to the details, the personnel of rangers intercepted a gang of bandits on suspicion at Khoi Goth Bin Qasim town on the wee hours of Saturday. Instead of surrendering themselves, they tried to escape under the cover of heavy gunshots.
On retaliation, the rangers' personnel killed one of the bandits and later arrested seven others and also recovered a Kalashnikov, two repeater, two TT pistol and dozens round from their possessions. SP Bin Qasim Town Tanveer Alam Odho said the alleged bandit was identified as Mehboob Barohi, a resident of same area where the encounter took place and expressed his inability to show the identity of others as their custody was still not shifted to police. Meanwhile, a spokesman of Sindh rangers confirmed that they had killed one bandit and arrested seven others in an encounter at Khoi Goth. Further investigation is in process.
