SSGC-EETPL ink agreement for additional 200 MMSCFD LNG

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) and Engro Elengy Terminal Private Limited (EETPL) have inked an Agreement for the provision of Regasification of additional 200 MMSCFD LNG.

A SSGC statement here on Wednesday said that the agreement was signed in Islamabad on December 11, 2017.

It said that the procurement process for the additional regasification capacity was initiated by SSGC on the directives of the Government of Pakistan.

This additional input would greatly help the country to meet the widening gap between demand and supply of natural gas and simultaneously assist in the enhancement of industrial productivity of the country.

SSGC has followed the relevant laws of the land in letter and spirit by maintaining complete transparency under the provisions of the Public Procurement Rules 2004 in awarding the contract to EETPL.

It would be pertinent to mention here that SSGC Team has managed to secure a very favourable price from EETPL. Under this agreement the tolling rate for the additional 200 MMSCFD is US$ 0.1745 per MMBTU which is the lowest in the region and this as a whole will reduce the overall rate of 600 MMSCFD volume to US$ 0.4799 per MMBTU, the statement added.
