President India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry S M Munir has urged upon the government to make efforts for improving law and order situation in order to revive econommic activities in the country He was speaking at a reception hosted by businessman, Rashid Hashmi.
Munir observed that Pakistan enemies are active and acting fast to destabilise the country. The government collects taxes from the businessmen and they have every right to know where this revenue is being utilised, he added. Munir said that it is a matter of great concern that Pakistan Railways and Airline despite doing huge business are showing losses.
He denied having any differences between him and Siraj Kasim Teli saying that both of them were working for business community's welfare and economic uplift in the country. Speaking on the occasion, former City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal emphasised the need for creating a favourable environment where people could sit and discuss various issues confronting them and the country. He also gave the example of Lahore where people sit at Baitthaks and discuss issues.
He said that when people mix with each other and discuss various issues and enjoy jokes it creates harmony, brotherhood and understating about each other. FPCCI Vice-President Khalid Tawab urged the politicians to give up their differences and launch a struggle for the revival of economic activities in the country. He said that current situation of the country needs a well-thought strategy to reduce tension among the masses and provide them with an encouraging working environment. He paid rich tributes to the services of Mustafa Kamal as a City Nazim.
