Farah Khan reveals Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ is her cheapest song

Bollywood has a few female directors and Farah Khan is one of them. The filmmaker has quite a few blockbusters and big budget movies under her belt. However, who knew the great director had also managed to give hits in a tight budget?

The choreographer-turned-movie director recently sat down in an interview, during which she she discussed her work with film critics Anupama Chopra and Rajeev Masan in their online podcast show.

During the interview, Farah spoke about the song ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ in her film ‘Tees Maar Khan’ starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. "Sheila ki Jawani is the cheapest song I have shot. There were only 10 dancers in that and no set. There was one rotating bed and some mirrors," Farah revealed.

It is no surprise that Katrina sizzled in ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ and it was her first item song. Majority give the credit to Farah for bringing out the dancer in Katrina through this song and now we know Farah did this in a low budget. "When there is less money, you will start thinking more creatively," the ‘Happy New Year’ director said.

"I always tell people that money has nothing to do with how good or bad a song will be. In fact, when there is less money, you will start thinking more creatively,"Pink Villa reported Farah saying.

Anupama and Rajeev together host this podcast show where the two discuss films and film-making in Hollywood and Bollywood. Their latest podcast venture is said to be back comprising 12 episodes of 20 minutes that they will run every Tuesday.

Recently, Farah’s first movie as a director ‘Om Shanti Om’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone completed 10 years and the director shared hilarious incidents from the film. "During ‘Dard-e-Disco’ [song shooting], I had morning sickness. So it was very funny because every time Shah Rukh would remove his shirt, I would throw up and he was like what is this and I was like 'No No your body looks fabulous but it is just that I have three bodies inside me so I was just non-stop puking'."
