Two of the greatest players of the modern generation, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are likely to be heading to Manchester as the City and the Red Devils are once again in pursuit of the Argentinean, Portuguese duo.

Lionel Messi’s dad Jorge has spoken to Manchester City about his son making a sensational move to the Etihad, The Sun reports.

While, Ronaldo who is currently serving a five-match ban for his ill-tempered reaction to being sent off in the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana this month - a decision he branded 'incomprehensible' earlier this week.

"For now, he’s just concentrating on playing," the source was quoted as saying in the Manchester Evening News.

"He is angry about the five-game ban, but he is working just as hard with the team. However, we cannot guarantee whether he will stay or leave.

"We’ll see what happens in between now and August 31."

On the other hand, SunSport quoting its sources reported, the duo spoke about the possibility of Messi, 30, joining City.

But any deal would be difficult and have to wait until at least next summer. Messi Jr is stalling on an extension, agreed in July, to stay at Barca until 2021.
