Manchester United are once again in pursuit of Real Madrid’s most expensive player Gareth Bale, as Zinedine Zidane hits at Wales international exit.

On September 1, 2013 Bernabéu acquired Gareth Bale for a record £85.3 million ($132.9 million) transfer fee, making him the most expensive footballer ever then.

However, with only over a month remaining in the close of transfer window, Madrid coach Zidane has dropped the biggest hint regarding Bale’s exit. He said, "anything can happen" before the transfer window closes on Aug. 31.”

United, who have failed in attempts to sign Bale before, are once again in pursuit of the 28-year-old striker.

Sir Alex Ferguson missed out when Bale left Southampton for Tottenham, and the 13-time Premier League champions were unsuccessful again in 2013 when he left Spurs to join Real Madrid.

Multiple reports in Friday's newspapers claim United are set to make a new move for the Wales international.

The Mirror says that Jose Mourinho is keen to sign a wide player this summer with Bale his first-choice target, while the Daily Mail adds that Bale could be sold as part of Madrid's plans to fund a £160 million world-record bid to land Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

Earlier, The Red Devils showed keen interest in resigning Ronaldo following tax scam hit the Portuguese striker in Spain.
