The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman has expressed shock and deep sorrow over the death of acid burns victim Maria Shah in Karachi. "This is a terrible loss and the Government of Pakistan pays its highest respect to the victim who refused to be intimidated by violence and stood for justice despite the pain inflicted upon her by the criminal," said Sherry Rehman in a press statement here on Wednesday.
Extending her heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved family, Sherry said that the government would do all to ensure the provision of justice in this case. "We would be closely monitoring the criminal proceedings against the culprit Arsalan Sanjrani to make sure that he receives strict punishment for this gruesome murder. The Government of Pakistan stands by the victim's family as it is not only their tragedy, it is a loss for the whole nation. Maria Shah was a committed member of the society and she had made a positive contribution through her job as the Lady Health Worker."-PR
