Russian president, Vladimir Putin, recently talked in depth about his life, and his favourite subjects including the US and Trump, Edward Snowden, and women leaders, for his four-part documentary that will be aired on Showtime Special from June 12-15.

For the documentary named ‘The Putin Interview’, Vladimir Putin has been interviewed by the Oscar-winning director, Oliver Stone offering insights into the life of the man who ruled Russia for 17 years.

According to Bloomberg, who had access to the documentary prior to its release, Putin doesn’t seem to regard highly his female counterparts and sort of mocked them by saying, “he never has an off day as president because he’s a man”.

“I am not a woman, so I don’t have bad days,” Putin explained to Stone while giving a tour of the Kremlin’s gilded throne room. “I am not trying to insult anyone. That’s just the nature of things. There are certain natural cycles.”

The sexist remark will be irking many for sure.

Regarding the former National Security Agency contractor, Edward Snowden, Putin told Stone that Russia’s first contact with him was when “Snowden was in China”.

He explained that Russia offered him asylum because “we were told back then that this was a person who wanted to fight against violations of human rights.”

Stone also asked Putin about the alleged discrimination against homosexuals in Russia to which he said “there are no restrictions whatsoever”.

But asked if he’d take a shower in a submarine next to a gay man, the Russian leader replied, laughing: “Well, I prefer not to go to the shower with him. Why provoke him? But you know, I’m a judo master.”

Vladimir Putin is known for his tough, manly self who doesn’t shy away in public. He was captured several times apart from his official engagements, like hunting without a shirt, swimming or horse-riding.
