ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform was informed on Tuesday that allocation of Rs. 10 billion had been proposed for the financial year of 2017-18 to widen the Prime Minister Health Insurance Scheme.

The body met here under the Chairmanship of MNA Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail.

The Committee recommended that the land issues of Pakistan Institute of Development Economics may be resolved by Capital Development Authority under the Prime Minister's directions.

The Committee showed serious reservations over the absence of Secretary M/o National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination and directed that he would clear his position before the Committee otherwise proceedings of breach of privilege should be taken against him.

The Committee was informed that 9 Special Economic Zones were agreed in the 6th JCC meeting under CPEC in December, 2016.

 

MNAs, Ch Jaffar Iqbal, Mr. Junaid Akbar, Ms. Shazia Sohail Mir, Ms Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ms Shaheen Shafiq, Mrs Shamas-un-Nisa, Mr Qaiser Jamal, Sheikh Salahuddin, and Mr. Sher Akber Khan attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, M/o Water & Power and Fasialabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Fasialabad.
