Mumbai court has convicted Indian model Preeti Jain for plotting the murder of Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.
Preeti Jain is the same model who charged the 'Fashion' director in 2005, accusing him of sexually exploiting her between the years 1994 to 2004.
According to India Today, the model was aided by two others in plotting a murder conspiracy against the filmmaker. Preeti Jain is sentenced to jail for up to three years with a fine of Rs.10000 after being found guilty of hiring contract killers to murder Bhandarkar by Mumbai civil and session court. Apparently, Preeti Jain gave ‘supari’ to an underworld don turned politician, Arun Gawli for finishing Bhandarkar’s life.
The model paid a mere amount of Rs.75000 to Gawli as an installment for doing the deed but the police were informed by Gawli’s own advocate Bagawe before the incident took place. Preeti had earlier demanded for Madhur’s arrest for asking for sexual favors in return of a promised role in his movie.
After the court verdict, Mr Bhandarkar tweeted without taking names,
“Somethings are better left unsaid! Somethings are better left as they are. Life moves on, so have I.â€
