After the backlash Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam received following his tweets about 'forced religiousness', the singer has clarified his statement saying that his statements were not against any religion but usage of loudspeakers.

Now under pressure from various quarters and segments of the Twitterati club, veteran singer Sonu Nigam has offered an apology in case his recent tweets were found to be ‘anti-Muslim’.

In a series of tweets clarifying his position, Nigam said, “For those who are tainting my tweets anti-Muslim, tell me one place where I have said anything related, and I’ll apologize.”

On Wednesday Nigam kept his word and shaved off his head just prior to addressing a media conference at his residence where police had beefed up security after his tweets raked up a huge ruckus.

While on Monday, a controversy erupted when Nigam lashed out as 'forced religiousness' in India after being woken up the 'Azaan' (Muslim calls for prayer) from a mosque near his home.

Nigam tweeted “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the [Adhan] in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.”
