Rs569mn released to IT Ministry under PSDP 2016-17

pak-rupeeISLAMABAD: Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has received Rs569 million out of the earmarked allocation of Rs1109 million under Public Sector Development Programme( PSDP) 2016-17 for ongoing and new projects.

According to official document available to APP, the amount released for the major projects included Rs126 million for Construction of cross-Border OFC system between China and Pakistan for International connectivity of Voice/Data Traffic among the total allocated budget of Rs230 million for the project.

Rs210 million was released for Replacement of GSM network AJ&K (SCO) however, the total allocated budget of this project was Rs300 million.

The document said as many as Rs90 million was released for laying of OFC to connect remote location of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan among the total allocated budget of 128 million for the current fiscal year.

An amount of Rs61 million was released for computerization of Prime Minister's Secretariat as the total allocated budget for the project was Rs73 million.
