LONDON: London's benchmark FTSE 100 index jumped by more than 3.0 percent on Thursday, mirroring large gains across Europe after EU leaders approved a deal aimed at repairing the eurozone debt crisis.

 

The FTSE 100 rallied 3.02 percent to stand at 5,721.00 points at around 1220 GMT, led by surging banking shares.
