ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance, Revenue, Statistics and Economic Affairs Ishaq Dar on Thursday advised members to manifest seriousness and avoid recurrence of unpleasant situation like the one the House had witnessed the other day.
"We need to show maturity. We have a lot of work to do. Let us ensure that Wednesday like ugly situation is not repeated," he remarked during the proceedings of National Assembly.
He said the House could function smoothly the other day as well but the rumpus by the PTI members marred the proceedings.
Dar explained that had the opposition members approached us on this issue, it could have been resolved. "Some opposition members had approached me to resolve the issue. But by the time PTI members had started chanting indecent slogans in front of the Speaker's dice and it was too late to manage them."
Speaking on the comments by treasury members, Dar said, their response was natural in view of the PTI's indecent behavior. "Their remarks were a natural human behavior."
He appreciated Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique's overture to withdraw his words and apologizing if he had hurt anybody's sentiments.
Dar said the issue could be resolved through consultation and all the parties would have to manifest maturity for smooth functioning of the House.
