imagePakistan Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq came out in support of Virat Kohli, and lashed out England pacer James Anderson, slamming the bowler for his comments on India's Kohli and his batting technique.

Inzamam was of the view that James Anderson should concentrate on taking wickets in India than question Kohli's technique and ability.

"It is surprising to me that Anderson should question Kohli's runs and ability because I haven't seen him take too many wickets in India.

Inzamam further added that performing well in England does not certify that one is a quality batsman.

Does Anderson mean to say that if you get runs in England you get some sort of certificate that makes you a quality batsman? Don't the English and Australian players struggle when they play in the sub-continent? Does that mean they are bad players or weak teams. To me it does not matter where you get runs because in Test matches runs are runs", stated Inzamam quoted Indian Express.

Inzamam was of the view that a quality batsman is the one who scores runs when matters i.e. helping the team to achieve victory rather than personal milestones, and Kohli has .

"He (Kohli) is a quality player and when he is getting runs his team does well. That is important to judge or classify a batsman's value.
