imageTHATTA: The Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Tahir Hussain Sanghi has said that there is a huge potential for Wind Power generation up to 40 thousand mega watts through wind power projects and more than 300 MW power is being supplied to the National grid after completion of 6 wind power generation projects in the district.

While briefing the members of the delegation of 20th senior management course, who called on him here on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner said that district administration is trying its best to provide adequate facilities in various sectors including municipal services, health, education, water supply, transportation, parks and recreational activities to the public in the district.

Tahir Hussain Sanghi told the delegation that new schemes of construction and repair of the roads and internal cc block streets worth of millions of rupees are in progress and would be completed soon. New machinery have also been purchased for the Municipal Committee for provision of municipal services to the masses, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the members of the delegation that district Thatta has a rich historical and cultural background and it remained as gateway to Islam. Thatta district consists of 4 Taulkas, 40 Union Councils and it stretched in 3069 square miles while 106 kilometer coastal belt is also included in it, he added.

Further he added that Makli Necropolis is also located in the Thatta, which is known as the largest graveyard. "There are so many recreational, historical and archaeological sites like Shah Jahan Mosque, Bhambhore, Keenjhar Lake, Haleji Lake and Sonda graveyard, which causes great attraction of visitors to Thatta", he added.

On this occasion Senior Superintendent of Police, Fida Hussain Mastoi also briefed the participants of Senior Management Course about law & order situation.

The Assistant Commissioner Thatta Capt. Bilal Shahid Rao and District Information Officer Jaffar Hussain Panhwar were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the 15 participant of the Senior Management Course led byFazal Yazdani khan visited the historical Makli graveyard, Shah Jahan Mosque, historical site Bhambhore and Keenjhar Lake.
