The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed registration of a criminal case against SHO Nawankot and a sub-inspector Muhammad Younus for keeping three persons in their illegal detention for 15 days.
The court passed these orders in habeas corpus petition filed by one Murad Ali, who approached the court for the recovery of three persons Qaiser Mehmood, Asghar Ali and Safdar Ali.
The court had deputed a court bailiff for the recovery of the detenue. The bailiff got recovered three persons from the police station. The court after examining the bailiff report released the detainees and directed the Inspector General of Punjab police to get registered a criminal case against the respondents for keeping the detenue in their illegal custody.
