The National Assembly (NA)'s 27th session will be held in the first week of September, an official source said on Monday. The sources told newsmen that the session had been delayed because of the Local Government (LG) elections. "However once the elections are over, it has been decided in principle to call the 27th session in the first week of September," the official said.
The business pending for transaction includes four bills, which are likely to be passed during the session.
THESE BILLS ARE:
-- The Legal Practitioners and Bar Council (Amendment) Bill 2005, which was passed by the Senate on June 17, 2005.
-- The Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources Bill, 2005.
-- The National Institute of Oceanography Bill, 2005 and
-- The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Bill, 2005.
Sources said that 17 bills had been referred to the concerned NA Standing Committees if the committees send their reports, those bills would be taken up during the session.
