Five dacoits armed with sophisticated weapons forced their entry into the house of Aaj TV reporter Aqeel Ahmed here at Sodiwal quarter and took away 400 tolas of gold ornaments and cash of around Rs 1 million in a broad day light on Saturday.
The Nawankot police has registered a case against culprits and started investigations. According to the details, five armed dacoits entered the house at about 11.00 am held the inmates including children at gunpoint and took away cash and ornaments. Only women and children were present in the house at the time of occurrence.
Moreover, Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) President, Jalil Hasan Akhtar Raja, has strongly condemned the heinous crime and asked the authorities to make concrete efforts to apprehend the criminals and not sleep over it, as a normal case in our society.
