ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways is planning to run `special trains' on Eid ul Azha across the country aiming to extend maximum facilities to the passengers.
"This year, we are planning to run more trains on Eid ul Azha for which a comprehensive advertisement campaign will be launched to aware passengers," an official of Pakistan Railways Headquarters told APP.
The administration was working on the plan and a final decision in this regard would be made shortly, he added.
Last year, he said, Pakistan Railways had run four Eid special trains to accommodate maximum number of passengers, who belonged to far flung areas and wanted to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones.
He said the trains were likely to run from Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar, adding that this move would also enable Railways to generate extra income.
Pakistan Railways, he said, had taken several steps to facilitate the passengers as railways was a safer and cheaper mode of transportation for general public.
