KARACH: Brisk shipping activity has been observed where six ships M.V Maersk Carolina, Al Nouf, M.V Independence, M.V Sargodah, M.V Mesaleed and Chem Bulk Jakarta carrying containers, cement, furnace oil and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Sunday, October 9.
Berth occupancy is 70% at the Port on Monday where a total of eight ships namely M.V Maersk Carolina, Al Nouf, M.V Independence, M.V Sargodah, Alexi-I, M.V Opal, M.V Mesaleed and Chem Bulk Jakarta are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume 101480 tonnes, comprising 77031 tonnes imports and 24449 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2242 containers (Boxes) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Three container ships M.V Maersk Carolina, Al Nouf and M.V Independence sailed out to sea on Monday morning while a cement Vessel M.V Alexi-I will sail later today.
