imageThe Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and the US-based IBM has agreed to launch Public Cloud Services in Pakistan.

According to local media reports, the agreement was signed between PTCL and IBM in Islamabad, under which IBM cloud platform, will offer Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) with Virtual Private Servers (VPS), IAAS is a form of cloud computing that provides virtualized computing resources over the Internet, according to searchcloudcomputing.

IBM cloud platform would also offer Backup Disaster Recovery Site (DRS), Storage along with other services to customers in Pakistan.

"The PTCL- IBM Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) agreement is an important step forward in our efforts to create greater value, not only for our customers but the entire enterprise segment," said Kamal Ahmed, Chief Digital & Corporate Services Officer, PTCL.

General Manager, IBM Pakistan Ghazanfar Ali stated "Cloud is changing the IT landscape across the world. This collaboration brings a reliable in country Public Cloud service built on the well-established capabilities of IBM and PTCL."
