World Wide Fund for Nature Pakistan (WWF-P) has held a fund raising ballot here on Friday, and raised Rs 400,000 funds for the conservation projects across Pakistan.
The ballot offered various prizes ranging from a bumper cash prize of Rs 100,000 to CD players. The bumper prize went to Muhammad Saleem.
A WWF-P's spokesman said they managed to sell 20,000 raffle tickets at the rate of Rs 20 each, while various multinational companies sponsored the prizes. "We have not only manage raise funds for conservation projects, but also disseminate information on the conservation of nature," he added.
ICI General Manager Muhammad Zahid was the chief guest, while WWF-P Director Ali Hassan Habib was also present on the occasion.
A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the event.
