A computer institute at Karachi Press Club (KPC) would be inaugurated by Federal Minister for Communications Babar Khan Ghauri today (Saturday).
A KPC announcement on Friday said the Chairman of the Kalia Group, Hanif S. Kalia, will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
KPC President Nizam Siddiqui said: "The institute is equipped with 15 computers, which would be utilised for imparting training to the members of the club as well as their families".
He said the teachers for the institute would be made available by the Kalia Group.
Nizam Siddiqui is of the view that the institute, which has been set up in the premises of the KPC in collaboration with the social welfare project of Kalia Group of Companies, would help bring about an improvement in the performance of journalists.
