imageISLAMABAD: A number of natives are rushing toward Railway Stations for advance booking of tickets to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in their hometown with their near and dear ones.

A report aired by a private news channel said, as Railway begins issuing advance tickets to passengers many travellers in cities crowded at Railway station facing problems to even get tickets for early booking.

"I had tried to get ticket but couldn't succeed. Today, I have come here again to get the ticket on chance," Asad Umer told.

"No ticket" was the answer from the booking clerks at all the counters as the travellers rushed witnessed there at booking offices", Citizens told.

Mohammad Sabir a city traveller, who was going to Karachi, said he usually preferred traveling in a bus, but this time decided to travel on train due to overcharging of the road transporters.

Unfortunately when he contacted the Railway booking office , he found no seat available, he said.

Naveed khan, who was going to Peshawar, said he always preferred to travel home with his family on train because road transport was unaffordable.

One of the passengers Ali Ikram who works in a government office said he is bachelor and at any cost would celebrate the Eid with his parents in Multan.

He said the only alternative left for him after failure to get bookings from Pakistan Railways and coaches is normal bus service but he feared that there would be an equal rush at the bus stands.

Also he said the conductors of bus and wagons charge exorbitantly from the passengers in the name of Eidi.

Railway officials informed that the shortage of seats had resulted in problems for commuters ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Booking offices in main cities claimed that, it is difficult to get reservation of seats as most of the seats have been reserved by the people going to the south of the country including Karachi, Hyderabad, Rahimyar Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan.

The situation at booking points and other main bus terminals is even more distressing in the country.
