Software experts should utilise Information Technology (IT) to improve the governmental infrastructure, especially in the provision of the utility services.
This was stated by the Punjab IT minister, Abdul Aleem Khan, while talking with a delegation of the computer software experts in his office here on Wednesday, according to a press release.
E-Commerce and online banking facilities would also help in improving performance of the public and private sectors, besides helping to eliminate red-tapism, he added.
He said that self-reliance in IT would provide new opportunities for our educated youth, prevent the brain drain, and strengthen the country's economy.
He said India had developed its IT industry to the point that it had captured world markets and Pakistan could so the same.
He urged the private sector to co-operate with the government efforts to promote computer literacy and IT expertise at every level.
