Federal Minister for Communications Babur Khan Ghauri called on President General Pervez Musharraf here on Monday.
During the course of the meeting, the president congratulated Babur Ghauri on his assumption of new responsibilities of communications minister.
President Musharraf said: "The government is laying special focus on development of communications and infrastructure, which play an important role in the country's economic development."
He hoped that the minister would bring a fresh impetus to the development work of his ministry.
Babur Khan Ghauri thanked the president and assured him that he would do his utmost to come up to the expectations of the people. He also apprised the president of various programmes of the ministry.
