During last year as many as 235 schools have been upgraded, while missing facilities, like classrooms, furniture, washrooms, were being provided in 660 schools of Sialkot, Daska and Pasrur tehsils during the current fiscal period.
In addition to this, two new hostels are under construction in Post-Graduate Women College Sialkot and Allama Iqbal Women College Sialkot costing Rs 40 million, while two new blocks at Hajipura Girls College Sialkot were also being constructed at a cost of Rs 30 million.
The development work on these projects is in full swing and would be accomplished in the stipulated period.
Sources disclosed that approval has been obtained for the reconstruction of 80-bed Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Daska.
The step was taken to ensure maximum health facilities to people of Daska and its adjoining areas at the local level.
