Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) will arrange visits of the country's tour operators to China for promoting tourism related activities between the two countries, Managing Director PTDC Malik Mohammad Habib Khan said on Saturday.
Talking to APP he said: "China has declared Pakistan as a tourist-friendly country in the region.
Therefore, PTDC in its new strategy has decided to give priority to China and send the country's tour operators for the exchange of tourist activities."
He said the tour operators would seek prospects of tourism related projects in China, which would promote the country's tourism at international level. Habib said: "PTDC is working on the upgradation of transport facilities for the tourists.
About his recent meeting with a delegation of Japanese Tourism Industry, he said prospects for Japanese investment in the PTDC's transport system were discussed.
Malik Habib said PTDC would also hold Desert Safari as a part of its winter tourism projects.
He said the participation of Pakistan in the World Tourism Organisation conference, held in Beijing last year, highlighted the country's image at the international level.
He said after the 9/11 incident, the country's tourism industry, including PTDC and other tourists' agencies, faced a great setback.
"However with the grace of Allah Almighty, the geo political condition of the country has improved and millions of foreign tourists are visiting Pakistan."
