The Government is implementing Drought Emergency Relief Assistance (DERA) with the assistance of donors to mitigate the effects of the drought and assess requirements and needs of the regions to avert large-scale human sufferings to provide systematic thrust to rehabilitate drought stricken areas through short, medium and long term schemes.
So far Rs 4.6 billion have been released to the affected districts, said an official sources.
