The Indian Air Force has raised a commando force to help ground troops in crushing the ongoing freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir.
The new force will undertake urban missions to target suspected hideouts besides protecting sensitive installations, reports Kashmir me4dia Service (KMS).
The first batch of the force, Christened Garud, consisting of 62 air commandos, passed out in the presence of senior officials.
They will be positioned at various air force stations to secure them from attacks. They will also be responsible for securing IAF installations like radars and airfields.
