imageISLAMABAD: The US and Pakistan will hold the fourth annual US-Pakistan Business Opportunities Conference on June 2-3 in New York City for establishing business to business linkages.

" The 2016 conference, the first to be held in the United States, aims to build business-to-business linkages and to generate networking opportunities for US and Pakistani businesses, with a particular focus on fashion apparel, health care, information communication technology, and agriculture", said a statement of the embassy here.

President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif affirmed their commitment in October 2015 to expand bilateral trade and investment, including by holding annual business opportunities conferences.

Pakistan's delegation will be led by Khurram Dastgir Khan, Federal Minister for Commerce, and will also include Ambassador to the United States Jalil Jilani.

The US delegation will be led by Bruce Andrews, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and will include Fred Hochberg, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States; Ambassador Richard Olson, US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; Larry Sampler, USAID Assistant to the Administrator for Afghanistan and Pakistan; and Ziad Haider, US Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs.

Vice Chairman of General Electric John Rice will also deliver a keynote speech.

Hundreds of US and Pakistani business executives have registered to attend the event, it said.
