imagePakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled out of the skills camp beginning on May 28 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore is in doubt to play in the upcoming tour to England.

According to ESPN Cricinfo report, Hafeez who last played for Pakistan at the World T20 in March, sustained the knee injury after a bone contusion in his femur. He has been resting since then and been undergoing extensive treatment as a part of his rehabilitation.

According to the latest report, doctors have advised Hafeez to not to participate in any net sessions. Hafeez is willing to restart his cricket but doctors are cautious about his injury which they fear could be aggravated if he tries to push for an early return, added the report.

Previously, Hafeez suffered a knee injury during the Asia Cup earlier this year. Despite his injury, Hafeez toured India for the World T20 where he aggravated his condition and was eventually left in the matches against New Zealand and Australia. He had already missed the ongoing fitness training camp at the Pakistan Military Academy in Abbottabad.

Despite undergoing treatment under supervision of Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) medical panel for more than two months, the pain in Hafeez’s right knee is yet to subside. As per reports, Hafeez looks unlikely to travel to England next month, where a pre-Test series camp has been scheduled for the national team.

According to local media report, the 35-year-old’s medical report described his condition as unsatisfactory, but the PCB is planning to take the final decision over his selection next week following his fitness test.

Earlier, Hafeez was named in the 21-member list announced by Pakistan’s chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq for the skill camp, but the chief selector made it clear Hafeez’s final selection depended on his fitness report.

Pakistan will tour England for a four-match Test series and a five-match ODI series, starting from July 14 at Lord's.
