MUZAFFARGARH: The district government on Tuesday auctioned waterway for fish netting and professional tax contracts for Rs 4.6 million.
ADLG Muzaffargarh Khurram, and superintendent land Yasin Khan conducted the auction process at Jinah hall here.
Muhammad Akbar Chandia won the contract to net fish from Rangpur Pattan for nine months with a successful bid of Rs 3.1 million.
The professional tax contract was not auctioned during last six years due to a stay order issued by a court. The auction was held today after court decided the matter.
Muhammad Imran Chandia won the professional tax collection contract against his highest bid of Rs 1.5 million.
The fish netting rights of waterways including Sheher Sultan, Shahpur, Binda Ishaq, Jhok Gulab Shah, Langar Wah, Bait Bagh Shah, and Gabbar Arain would be auctioned later because of the stay orders issued by courts.
