imagePakistan opener Sharjeel Khan has claimed that he had been receiving calls from unknown persons trying to blackmail him by threatening to post his ‘fake videos’ on social media.

According to local media reports, “I have been receiving threats through phone calls from unknown numbers. Some people are trying to hack my Twitter and Facebook accounts too,” said Sharjeel.

“They are threatening me that they will post videos that are apparently featuring me,” he added.

However, Sharjeel also addressed his fans by posting a video on his Facebook and Twitter account in which he asked them not to believe in those videos. He also urged his fans to ignore any such controversial videos in the coming days, calling them ‘fake’.

Reportedly, The PCB has also directed its anti-corruption cell to take action in this regard.

Sharjeel Khan made his international debut in 2013 and was a part of the country’s side in the recent Asia Cup and World T20 campaigns. The hard-hitting batsman also represented Pakistan Super League champions Islamabad United in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
