Addressing a press conference at Model Town here on Friday, he said that Prime Minster Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had taken strict action and ordered free and fair investigations of Nandipur Power

Project to probe that why a project was shutdown after generating 450 megawatt electricity in first fifteen days.

He said it was also a question that why the law minister at that time kept the file of the project in his custody for two years?

He said that a section of media was not showing true picture of the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Project, whereas the Solar power was the most economical energy source among all other sources of energy including hydle, wind or thermal electricity.

He defined that average production of Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Project was about 17 to 19 megawatt according to the Central Power Purchase Authority figures while it produced 80 megawatt electricity when the sun was in full shine.

He said that EPC cost of the 100 megawatt Quaid-e-Azam Solar project was 133.547928 million US dollars including tax while only 45 megawatt hydle power plant could be installed in this amount.

He said that EPC cost of 84 megawatt Newlong Scape Hydle Power project near Mangla was 152 million dollars and it would produce just 63 percent electricity while EPC cost of 100 megawatt

Gulpur Power project was 235 million dollar which would produce 53 percent electricity of its capacity.

The Chief Minister said that completion period of the hydle projects was minimum five years and Qauid-e-Azam Solar Project would produce more than 100 megawatt energy in coming five years.

He said that cost per megawatt of solar power was 1.33 million dollar while average cost of Wind power was 2.1 million dollar likewise price of solar power was Rs 14.1 per unit and price of wind based power was Rs 14.86 to Rs 16.00.

He said that 250 megawatt projects of wind power had been installed in Sindh province and their cost was also higher than the solar power.

The CM said that NEPRA had to reduce price of electricity from Rs 16.3 to Rs 14.1 due to the price of the solar power suggested by the Punjab government.

He said that electricity could be provided to 54000 house for 25 years from Quaid-e-Azam Solar power project.

He said no channel discussed about the wind energy, while facts should be presented before the nation.
