Shipping activity at Port Qasim
KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where four ships carrying containers, urea and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday, August 23.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours
Berth occupancy was maintained at 86 percent at the Port on Tuesday where a total of nine ships namely M.V Maersk Kalamata , CSAV Pyrenes, MSC Magali, Tycoon, Afamia, Ioanthi, Gerasimos, Remi and M.T Indradi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, canola seeds, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 105447 tonnes, comprising 81255 tonnes imports and 2419 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,680 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
MSC Magali sailed out to sea on Wednesday early morning. Two ships Maersk Kalamata and M.V Indradi are expected to sail later same day.
Four ships North Contender, ACX Margurite, CGM Wagner and M.T Shipphire carrying chemical and containers are expected to take berths at EVTL and Container Terminal respectively on Wednesday, August 24.
