LONDON: Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.11 percent to 6,680.85 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 0.31 percent to 11,408.23 points and the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.12 percent to stand at 5,114.63 compared with Monday's close.
European stock markets had mostly risen on Monday, appearing to shrug off a plunge in Athens as Greek trading resumed after a five-week shutdown.
