Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in third and final Test by seven wickets on Tuesday. Pakistan sealed their highest run chase and the second highest in the sub-continent with their Test Series win.
Young and emerging leg spinner Yasir Shah has turned the magic on as he is in the making and breaking of so many records this season, there is another achievement for the young leggie Yasir Shah has been awarded for the ‘Man of the series’ and he became the fastest Pakistan bowler to reach 50 wickets in Tests.
According to local media reports, Yasir Shah ‘Man of the Series’ said, “I am playing my 10th game, I do not feel much pressure. People say I smile a lot that is my natural way. I have worked a lot on my action with Mushy bhai, worked on my googly and made my action repeatable. My target was to take 20 wickets. I bowl according to the wicket. In the second innings, I went around the wicket to make full use of the track”.
Younis Khan and Shan Masood both deserve enormous credit for the manner which they played. Masood is the sixth Pakistan opener to score a century in the fourth innings of a Test. For Pakistan, a historic win, even though 147 runs may not seem like much with eight wickets remaining, on the fifth day of a Test match.
Pakistan last won a Test series in Sri Lanka in 2006 under the leadership of Inzamam-ul-Haq. No team has chased over 300 runs in the fourth innings and won a Test in Sri Lanka.
