Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Raza Hasan has been banned for two years after being tested positive for the consumption of cocaine. Raza Hasan has challenged a two-year ban imposed on him for failing a drug test, saying he was not given a chance to defend himself.
Hasan was under investigation for using cocaine. But, he said, “I have filed an appeal against the ban. The ban is illegal because I was not given a chance to defend myself and the PCB should have formed a tribunal to hear my point of view.”
As per latest media reports, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has told spinner Raza Hasan’s that his appeal against the two-year ban imposed on him on charges of doping can only be heard by the Court of Arbitration Sports (CAS). “Under the rules, the appropriate forum for filing the appeal is CAS, therefore the appeal filed by Hasan has been returned by the PCB,” said the board’s legal advisor, Taffazzul Rizvi.
The Pakistan cricket board took the matter very seriously because this is the first time any player has been test positive for the use of cocaine.PCB had previously announced that Hasan, who played one one-day international and ten Twenty20 matches for Pakistan, will be ineligible to participate in any capacity.
