NEW YORK: The euro rose against the dollar on Wednesday, erasing earlier losses, prompted by reports that Greece and its creditors are closer to striking a deal so the cash-strapped nation would avert default in the coming days.
The single currency hit a U.S. session peak at $1.09105 before easing to $1.08865, up 0.1 percent from late Tuesday on the EBS trading system.
