imageFAISALABAD: Under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads programme, an amount of Rs 965.00 million is being spent on construction and widening of 135km rural roads in different areas of the district.

A ceremony was held at Awagat Khurrianwala road some 25km away from the city for launching the Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads programme.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary, Talal Badar Ch and DCO Noorul Amin Mengal inaugurated the construction of a 10km long rural road from Awagat to Khurarianwala which would be completed at a cost of Rs 87 million.

Talal Badar said the construction, widening and rehabilitation of rural roads programme was a revolutionary step of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for which huge amount of Rs 15 billion had been allocated.

He said transparent and durable construction of roads would be ensured for which reputed consultants would look after the entire process of construction.
