imageISLAMABAD: The mobile phone operators - Mobilink and CMPak (China Mobile) have claimed crossing of one million mark each of 3G and 4G subscribers, using such modern services.

A subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), Zong and Pakistan's first and only 4G mobile service is celebrating a milestone of one million 3G and 4G customers it achieved last month.

The company is offering Super 3G service which is capable of providing maximum speeds of up to 42 Mbps (twice as fast as normal 3G available in Pakistan) to its users.

Zong might be the latest entrant in the telecom industry of Pakistan, but it has the fastest growth in subscriber base and this milestone further solidifies its industry position as the premier telecom service provider.

The other two operators- Ufone and Telenor have also acquired 3G licenses in April this year and are in the race to attract their subscribers to use such services through attractive packages.

The newly introduced 3G and 4G services have witnessed a reasonable response and its subscription reached more than around 2.9 million mark since its launch.

A telecom experts has said that 3G adoption has been tremendous during early months considering the limited coverage from telecom operators in the country, the subscribers size of 2.9 million in almost five months is more than what they were originally expecting.
