imageISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Friday said law enforcement agencies have so far arrested nine suspects involved in the Naval Dockyard incident.

Talking to media outside the Parliament House, he said the attack, without inside assistance, was impossible for the miscreants. "We have so far arrested nine persons including two navy men, while further efforts are on to arrest those who managed to flee aborad."

Pakistan Navy, the Minister said, had foiled the designs of terrorists by defending its installations in a highly professional manner.

To a question, he said, the government has decided to exhibit maximum restraint in handling the protesters just to save the children and women, being used as a human shield by the PAT and PTI.

He said the on going sit-ins were causing huge financial losses to the national exchequer.

"Image of the country aborad has badly damaged due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-ins," he added.

Khawaja Asif said both the PTI and PAT showed anti-state and non-democratic attitude by holding long marches and staging sit-ins in red zone of the Federal Capital for their unconstitutional demands.

He was of the view that the sit-in has also badly affected political stature of PTI chief Imran Khan.

To another question, he said the two parties wanted to do politics of bloodshed but the government's restraint policy has frustrated them.
