MOSCOW: Russia said on Friday it would hold no new talks with either the European Union or Ukraine before early Monday, Moscow's energy cutoff deadline unless Kiev pays its gas debt, the energy ministry said.
"We are not planning any meetings so far," energy ministry spokeswoman Olga Golant told AFP. EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger said earlier Friday he hoped high-stakes gas talks between Ukraine and Russia to avert a cutoff of energy flows to Europe could resume this weekend.
