ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that process of forming standing committees of National Assembly would be completed during the current session.
Opposition would be given share in chairmanships of the standing committees according to their percentage in the house, he added.
Taking to PTV, the speaker said that 88 parliamentary friendship groups were set up for image building of Pakistan at international level.
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was capable to steer the country out of crisis.
He said that he was working for the training of new members of Parliament and staff for ensuring their constructive role in the house.
He said that he had written a letter to 28 universities for introducing a parliamentary and legislative drafting subject for students. He urged the need for awareness of youth about the parliamentary affairs and legislation.
Ayaz said that opposition were being given more time than treasury benches in the National Assembly, saying that token system was being introduced for positive results in this regard.
He said that IT system of Parliament building was being developed.
He said that project of up gradation of air conditioned system worth Rs 5 million was being introduced that would avoid a mega project of 50 million rupees.
He said that steps were being taken for 40 percent reduction of electricity and gas usage in the Parliament.
To a question he said, government was working on two MW solar energy projects worth Rs. 6 million for Parliament with the cooperation of Chinese company.
Sardar Ayaz said that government was committed to ensure good governance in the country as five year strategic plan had been made.
He stressed on the need of sustainable democratic system for good results.
