imageKARACHI: Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan, has said that there exists a lot of potential for rapid growth in the IT sector.

He was talking to a delegation of the British Trade and Industry led by Dr. Sarfraz.

A Governor House statement here on Wednesday said that the delegation included Methew Goldy and Games Couglar.

The British delegation was here to participate in the ITCN Asia 2013.

Referring to the potential of the IT sector, the Governor said that besides rapid growth, a large number of employment opportunities could be generated in a shorter period of time and that it could also lead towards poverty alleviation.

He stated that the headway that has been made in Pakistan in the telecom sector is before the world and that Pakistan's position is at number three in terms of development in the telecom sector.

Dr. Ishrat also pointed out on the occasion that Pakistan is ably facing the internal and external challenges within its resources and hopes to overcome these soon.

He said that the country is also facing the economic challenge. For this it is essential to improve the country's perception and persuade the investors from abroad to come and invest in the country.
